Lauren Santye of Pharmacy Times presented a new a technique that can decrease the drug dosage in HIV patients. Currently, patients have to take a daily oral dose, which can unfortunately lead to a high pill burden. The developmental therapies using Solid Drug Nanoparticle (SDN) technology will improve drug absorption in the body, resulting in the reduction of both dosages and cost per dose, allowing existing health care budgets to treat more patients.
